Nurses' Day Celebration 2014

Just 1 months before celebrating Nurses' day, I was staring at my organizer diary, and I made up my mind, I want to request a morning shift, after work to enjoy the food, laze around and most importantly I want to go for manicure.......

I was granted morning shift, but I was assigned to be in charge of getting participants to play the block challenge tele-match games and also to decorate the block flag which is included in the scoring points of the tele-matches.

I was so stressed up, coz I was all alone and it was my first time to be solely in-charge. I emailed every supervisors of the block to give me names of staff who were sporty enough to participate in the games. I got the name of the staffs, I assigned staff of my own ward to participate in the games.

In regards to the flag, I managed to have a staff who had provided me ideas on how to decorate the flag, nevertheless, it was very nice of her to offer a helping hand to me......

In the end, I managed to get 6 staffs to participate in the games, however I had a very strong feeling that  there were no motivation and team feel with the members, I just don't know why?

My gut feel was damn accurate, on the day itself, most of my members of the team was most interested in eating, but it is Nurses' day, so it was their right to enjoy themselves.  The only thing that upset me was that most of them disappeared when I needed them.. Thus I transform myself into Mamasan....... Went around grabbing man who wrote red to join in the selected games.

Games: 1) Gladiator
             2) Sumo Wrestler
             3) IQ quizzes
The Top 3 blocks will then proceed to the finals...... I thought we will not go in the finals, the way my team members behave, that is so.............

Too bad, we were 1 of the top three, when they announced the results, I thought the judges were joking...... our marks were marked up by the results of the football and basketball competition.

I was feeling very low in morale especially when I saw how other blocks came to participate with a whole cheerleading group.... Only my block, little cats, 2 or 3 (小猫两三只)。

Since we were one of the top 3, we have participate in the final tele-matches which was held, and again I need to grab people to join in.
Luckily, I managed to grab my ward staff, colleague who were very sporty, agreed the moment, I asked them.. There was one of the participants who was with me all the way throughout the whole tele-match. Really appreciated all their help and support.

For Those who rejected me, it was ok..... For those who participated - A big Thank you.
For those who don't even bothered to answer me and walked away- I will remember you coz the next time, I will not even give you a chance to prove yourself because you don't even have the simplest respect, manners and courage to say "NO"

We managed to get 2nd, and the best part was, when we won, that was the time I heard people cheering and when there was photo-session with the 2nd in place team, red T-shirts people came rushing in as if they work hard to win.......I was smiling for the photo taking, but I was very upset that they were so realistic...... I dare not imagine if we did not win, how many will come over for a photo shoot with the team!!!!!

We won a hamper which was later distributed to all the wards in the block.  I continued to stay on for the lucky draws... At that time, I was talking to my Nurse Clinician and thus was not paying attention to the results.... While talking, I heard people calling out my names numerous times, finally I responded and I won the 9th Prize.......I was really in a daze,  not sure that I won... Someone answered my doubt, "YES" You Won!. I won a massager for both body and leg... I was very elated still, I thought, May be I worked hard thus I finally won a prize... This is my 1st time to win a lucky draw prize in my 13th years of working in the hospital....

My grandma opened ceremony for the machine later in the evening.......
