Ng Residence Empress Dowager on a short trip to Genting Highlands Casino

When my dad informed us that he will be going to Genting Highlands with granny, the first thing that enters my mind was "Casino!" I started guessing that dad could be the one playing in the casino for some time, while my granny could be resting in the hotel room, as she get tired easily when travelling for some distance or period.....but................. (to be continued later)

When both of them were not at home, i thought i could create havoc, eat tibits, watch Tv programs until late night, unfortunately..... they were not accomplished..... I was very occupied with work and training courses....... instead I slept early....... if not resting in bed....just don't have further energy to do anything else.... I was then also in charge- of looking after my brother N wife's dog: Senior Citizen Hobs........ I got to ensure he take his meals and medication for his skin,  clear his toilet (poo poo n wee wee).

while On duty nursed psychiatric patients, Off duty do veterinary nursing!!!! (of course 姑姑help around to prepare his food.....) Senior Citizen Hobs is a vegetarian....... he ate only rice, carrots and long beans + a table spoon of olive oil that acts to be his lactulose.... to help him to poo poo....

Lets come back to my granny........
When  she returned home , I was very shocked and overwhelmed by my dad's content of granny's behaviour in Genting..... She had enjoyed herself very much there, especially in the casino....hahahaha

She had actually spent a long period of time inside the casino playing the jackpot machine....there were lots of different theme of games......her favourite was the cats one, and it is the five lines jackpot, one line cost 5cents...five lines 25cents.... anywhere i can't imagine.... can u ? Can!  if u know the rules of the jackpot........

My dad said she actually refused to return to the hotel room despite being late at night.....lets guess? what was the time ??? nono it should be wee hours .... in the morning ...... okokok...... the answer was:   0230hrs......

Dad reminded her once at 0100 hrs.... her relpy was : " (in teochew) " i long long time come once, so i must play to my hearts content!"

Poor dad got to sit down beside her to watch her play...... Imagine granny is the Empress Dowager.... Dad is  the servant         ( 太后与奴才)

Granny was enjoying herself because she was winning money ( we sponsored some )....... poor dad.... he was very tired and bored already but he had to be there, otherwise it was dangerous to leave an elderly lady to leave the casino and returned to the hotel alone.......

Dad has no choice but to 舍命陪太后。。。。

she was having so much fun , played until both her arms was aching...... used left hand to press.... tired.... used right hand....... both hands tired...... used my Dad's hands ......hahahahaha

(In Teochew)... "my hands are tired, u help me to press a few times!!!!"

When my dad imitate her behaviour and words, all of us broke into laughter......

I was very glad that granny enjoyed this trip......  and I earned a gift from her....... the gift was not cheap...... but i love it...... my granny won a lucky draw dip gift there..... A Guess Watch....hahahahah and she gave it to me as a present!!!!  Beautiful Watch!!!!

i don't have this kind of luck...... so many years of participating in dinner and dance lucky draw..... there was never my chance to win anything, 连个屁都没有!

2nd Day in Thailand

Our second day in Bangkok, Monday 26th September 2011, it was a well spent day . We had joined a half day tour to the unique temples and the grand palace in Bangkok. We had learn brief Thailand history, and it had brought back some of history knowledge we had learned during our secondary school days..... The morning was a peaceful and quiet trip, especially to the temple, with the morning breeze brushing across our face, that was so relaxing. Most importantly, no crowds.....just the few of us. Oh ya, both of us was joined by two caucasian couple, and our tour guide gave us not only history lesson, but also knowledge about Thailand 's monks and how it is important for the young generation of Thais to become a monk for a short period of time and it was a honor to their family......!!!!!! And plus some the teachings of Buddhism. We managed to learn that there were no mafia, gangsters around the streets of Thailand, as they had changed their job scope......

" u will find them working in the parliament !"
"The people only respect and love their king but not the government"

We managed to see the Royal monastery of the Emerald Buddha, but this was the only one that photography was prohibited ... It can only be stored in one of my memory brain cell at the back of my head, luckily I was able to capture most of them in images.

But to me, despite quiet and peaceful, most importantly, I was very lucky too, " To Step On Shit!" It happened at one of the temple, I was going to the toilet before we set off for the next destination. When I finally got to the toilet, it had shown a sign "Female toilet under renovation! Please use the Men's toilet" I just went in, doesn't care if there were Men using the urinal..........my only thoughts, will any man look????? Aya, think too much...... I managed to complete my micturation, when suddenly I saw stains on the floor ..........

A crow suddenly flow past my head.......... " oh no, is it shit? Oh yes, it was........ I immediately took out my alcohol pack to wipe my shoe.......

when we finally got to the palace grounds, it was full of tourists......... And the weather was quite warm, every one was noted to be perspiring .... My friend then said " it is better than rainy day," Her words strikes me and I am totally agreeable with it.....

Not only, the grounds was full of people, it was like as if I had entered a GOLD Smith shop.....the roof top, side of the building, it was gold plated......and very very 'bright' 金光闪闪

Thereafter, at the ending of our tour, we were brought to a place where they sold Thai silk, Thai gems stones...... Both of us apologize silently to the sale personnel who followed us like glue...... Coz we did not buy a silent item....

We managed to ask the tour guide to send us to the Siam paragon and MBK instead of returning to the hotel...... We had spent some time from 11am to 3pm there .... We had forgotten the Venue to wait for the shuttle bus provided by the hotel, thus in the end we took the BTS (Thailand Sky train and the airport rail link back to our hotel,,,,,,,,

We needed to rest as we were very tired with all the walking......we must rest as at 5.45, we are going for a international buffet candle light dinner cruise at the Chao Phraya River ............

At 5.45 pm, we were joined by a family of six from Indonesia via the hotel transport made our way through the evening congested traffic of Thailand .......I just found out that despite the traffic, they are still able to sped through small roads and traffic jam .....and the best part is that they love to honk each other.......

We waited for almost 1hour for the cruise ship....... The cruise turned up quite dramatic with her staff... The waiters and waitress lined up and stood saluting us while the cruise was preparing to dork and to allow us board the ship... There was even red carpet rolled out to welcome the guests.

When we were about to board the ship, suddenly heard a lady (Caucasian black) talking.....then shouted..... When I turned back, I saw her fallen on the steps , she was like lying diagonally towards the bottom of the steps. (which means her two feet was on the fourth step, while her head was at the bottom of the steps), luckily she was not hurt and was still talking excitably while boarding the ship.

We had chosen to sit out on the ship deck, in order to view the scenery and feel the evening wind.... Can u imagine that while the ship is moving, you are walking around the buffet trying to take our portion, but the ship was steady.... So steady that you don't at least feel seasick....

However, there was not much variety for the international buffet, the funny part is that while queuing for the buffet, I saw a group of people, and they seems to be Chinese VIP guests, I heard translation and they were dressed in black suit. There were cameras filming and best thing, we were queuing around them ....... That was very very weird......

Imagine u are the VIP and there was a long queue behind u, watching u at all times while queuing for food. The best is, all of them were so stiff.... I was queuing for about 10 minutes and they did not even move an inch..

As the queue was too long, we were invited to the end of the ship for similar choice of buffet.... Thus, I got to walk all the way from the front deck to the back and return....( actually not far)......
The food was not the best, but the night scenery was still acceptable ... Just basically enjoying the calmness and the wind.........

1st Day in Thailand........

On Sept 25, 2011, my friend and I was in Bangkok, Thailand.... I was kinda of having mixed feelings.....excited and homesick! This is the very common feeling that i usually experience whenever I go on holiday in other countries. I started to miss my bed, my bolster, my grandma! This is also my first time to go free and easy in a country with different language....I may not want to try again.....some may like it, but definitely not us......

I got some tips of how to move around in the country from my friends and dear colleagues.

From the airport, we took the airport rail link to the hotel.....when we reached we actually took a shortcut to the hotel through the back lane, it was quite scary for us.....But we managed to reach the hotel grounds safety.... The lobby was located at level 18th.

Before checking in, we check out the tours available and managed to book a short tour to the places of interest. We managed to check in at 2pm, before that we actually had our lunch at the sky coffee shop.... the food was worth the money er paid... Best is they serve very big portion to u and it was delicious....

Thereafter, we went up to our room, it was on the 48th level: the hotel staff told us that it was the ladies' floor (Sky Zone). Before check in, the staff told us that our room was actually not ready, thus they upgraded us to a suite: Junior Suite-Sky Zone.....not bad, spacious.... and we were able to view the vibrant night lights of Bangkok......

After putting and arranging whatever that is required, we started our shopping path....As my friend and I were not the types that love shopping, but we managed to walk and scan through the street markets and shopping centre. It usually take the ladies to never finish shopping, but the two of us just took about one and half hour to finish our walk..... ( and we managed to buy some special items from there)

Most of the street vendors were selling clothes, but not my kind! To us, they are still not cheap as compared to the quality and the design, we actually felt that we as tourists were still slaughtered by vendors.... Basically bargaining is the trick, however it was very tiring.....

Howver we managed to laze around, until we felt it was time to have our dinner. Since tonight was the first night, we decided to have our dinner in the hotel... we went up, however they were all serving buffet and that was too much for us....thus we changed our mind and went to the observatory deck to view the lightings of Bangkok.... After a short round of viewing, we saw the transparent observatory elevator, and decided to take it down to the ground floor...

However, it was very very disappointing and shocking trip down to the ground level.... At first, only two of us waiting for the elevator, and after both of us entered inside the door, suddenly a guy rushed in, as usually we will pressed the 'open door' button, he was practically blocking the elevator door with both hands and legs..... 1 person came in, 3 people came in, 5 people came in, suddenly the whole elevator was clamped up, with the two of us stuck to the side of the elevator.... Instead of viewing the night scenery, we were viewing a bunch of ' high roudy group of men' they seemed to be Thais but may be from some other provinces.... They continously spoke to us in Thai.... There was one of the man whom I could smelled his alcohol breath, was talking to and and at the same time poking me.... I can't do anything else but just smile...... (Inside my head, i was thinking, if he poke some other places other than my shoulder, i was going to BREAK HIs finger) My friend, L was basically staring at one of the man, coz he was basically pressing against us.... The man got the hint and put his hands up in the air (surrender mode).... She was kinda !!!!!!!!@#$%^ when he even started to take pictures of himself in a packed elevator with various sardine fishes...

Two of us were praying in our heart " Pls let us reach the ground level fast!"

But thereafter, I thought about it, they were basically harmless people... The man kept poking me because he wanted me to look at the view outside the elevator ! BUT I CAN'T  coz our view were totally blocked!

All i could do was to smile and pressed the 'OPEN DOOR' for them to leave (无奈的微笑)
Simply put it, we required a personal space even in the elevator, but not everyone knows it. (保持一个距离). this was the thing about different cultures...But I got to learn to 随遇而安,入乡随俗。。。 哈哈哈。

We the proceeded to buy some bread, drinks and returned to our room to rest for the night, as we got to go to the grand palace the next day at 0730am....
