1st Day in Thailand........

On Sept 25, 2011, my friend and I was in Bangkok, Thailand.... I was kinda of having mixed feelings.....excited and homesick! This is the very common feeling that i usually experience whenever I go on holiday in other countries. I started to miss my bed, my bolster, my grandma! This is also my first time to go free and easy in a country with different language....I may not want to try again.....some may like it, but definitely not us......

I got some tips of how to move around in the country from my friends and dear colleagues.

From the airport, we took the airport rail link to the hotel.....when we reached we actually took a shortcut to the hotel through the back lane, it was quite scary for us.....But we managed to reach the hotel grounds safety.... The lobby was located at level 18th.

Before checking in, we check out the tours available and managed to book a short tour to the places of interest. We managed to check in at 2pm, before that we actually had our lunch at the sky coffee shop.... the food was worth the money er paid... Best is they serve very big portion to u and it was delicious....

Thereafter, we went up to our room, it was on the 48th level: the hotel staff told us that it was the ladies' floor (Sky Zone). Before check in, the staff told us that our room was actually not ready, thus they upgraded us to a suite: Junior Suite-Sky Zone.....not bad, spacious.... and we were able to view the vibrant night lights of Bangkok......

After putting and arranging whatever that is required, we started our shopping path....As my friend and I were not the types that love shopping, but we managed to walk and scan through the street markets and shopping centre. It usually take the ladies to never finish shopping, but the two of us just took about one and half hour to finish our walk..... ( and we managed to buy some special items from there)

Most of the street vendors were selling clothes, but not my kind! To us, they are still not cheap as compared to the quality and the design, we actually felt that we as tourists were still slaughtered by vendors.... Basically bargaining is the trick, however it was very tiring.....

Howver we managed to laze around, until we felt it was time to have our dinner. Since tonight was the first night, we decided to have our dinner in the hotel... we went up, however they were all serving buffet and that was too much for us....thus we changed our mind and went to the observatory deck to view the lightings of Bangkok.... After a short round of viewing, we saw the transparent observatory elevator, and decided to take it down to the ground floor...

However, it was very very disappointing and shocking trip down to the ground level.... At first, only two of us waiting for the elevator, and after both of us entered inside the door, suddenly a guy rushed in, as usually we will pressed the 'open door' button, he was practically blocking the elevator door with both hands and legs..... 1 person came in, 3 people came in, 5 people came in, suddenly the whole elevator was clamped up, with the two of us stuck to the side of the elevator.... Instead of viewing the night scenery, we were viewing a bunch of ' high roudy group of men' they seemed to be Thais but may be from some other provinces.... They continously spoke to us in Thai.... There was one of the man whom I could smelled his alcohol breath, was talking to and and at the same time poking me.... I can't do anything else but just smile...... (Inside my head, i was thinking, if he poke some other places other than my shoulder, i was going to BREAK HIs finger) My friend, L was basically staring at one of the man, coz he was basically pressing against us.... The man got the hint and put his hands up in the air (surrender mode).... She was kinda !!!!!!!!@#$%^ when he even started to take pictures of himself in a packed elevator with various sardine fishes...

Two of us were praying in our heart " Pls let us reach the ground level fast!"

But thereafter, I thought about it, they were basically harmless people... The man kept poking me because he wanted me to look at the view outside the elevator ! BUT I CAN'T  coz our view were totally blocked!

All i could do was to smile and pressed the 'OPEN DOOR' for them to leave (无奈的微笑)
Simply put it, we required a personal space even in the elevator, but not everyone knows it. (保持一个距离). this was the thing about different cultures...But I got to learn to 随遇而安,入乡随俗。。。 哈哈哈。

We the proceeded to buy some bread, drinks and returned to our room to rest for the night, as we got to go to the grand palace the next day at 0730am....
